Surin Island Sea Adventure

Location: Thailand: Kuraburi, Tung Nang Dam, Surin National Park
Date: Available from November to 30 April (Surin Nationalpark is closed May-October). 2 or 3 days.

Description: Explore the Surin Islands with its turquoise water and spectacular coral reefs. Visit a traditional Moken (sea gypsy) village and sleep in tents on the beach under a starry sky.

Day 1: Koh Surin, snorkling and village visit.
Transfer from resort to Kuraburi pier, where you will collect your snorkeling equipment. From here we departure to Surin Island by speed boat (approximately 1 hr.) Enjoy snorkeling at Pakkard Bay and Tao Bays, home to sea turtles and a rich marine life of coral reefs in shallow water full of colorful fish.

Enjoy a thai lunch at Surin national park canteen before more swimming and snorkling at Torinla Island, the most beautiful area in Surin. Discover the coral reefs and several strange fish. Visit a Moken village. The Moken people are sea gypsies who still live the same traditional way of life they have done for centuries. Return to Surin national park camping grounds. Dinner at the national park and time for relaxation at your leisure. Spend the night in a tent on the beach.

Day 2: Koh Surin and nearby islands.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and then jump on board a traditional long-tail boat for a snorkeling excursion to Jaak Bay and Koh Stork, or alternatively go for a hike along the national park's nature trails: walk through the rainforest and look for wild animals such as "monkey squirrels", Malaysian flying lemur and birds.

Lunch in the national park's serving. Time for departure or spend another night on Koh Surin. If you stay, spend the rest of the day visiting Suthep Bay and Morgan Island or hike in the park. Back to camp for dinner and time for relaxation at your leisure.

Day 3: Koh Surin.
Breakfast and then your choice of either relaxation or nature trekking along national park trails to Mai Ngam Bay. Lunch at the Surin national park canteen and then preparation for return to mainland by speed boat. Return to Kuraburi and transfer back to hotel.
